About

Walter is a 4th year direct-Ph.D. candiate in the School of Mechanical engineering at Purdue University. His work focuses on spectral characterization of ferroelectric memory materials and photonic semiconductors. Before starting his Ph.D., Walter graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Walter has been awarded the Best Poster at Materials Research Society in spring of 2025 for his work on "Nitrogen Vacancies Induce Fatigue in Ferroelectric Al0.93B0.07N". Walter has also been an invited presenter for this work at MRS.

During his time at Purdue University, Walter was the president of the Nanotechnology Student Advisory Council for two years, which brought students together at the Birck Nanotechnology Center. Walter is now a Birck Ambassador, helping to keep Birck a welcoming facility.
